Shining His Light on the supernatural world through His Word and His Spirit

Did Jesus lie?

““That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your Heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to Him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?

“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, He will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?

“So, don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your Heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”—Matthew 6:25-34 NLT

We are living in the end times and I strongly believe the final hours. Now that is “final hours” in spiritual time which does not translate the same as physical time. Even though, we need to keep our oil lamps full and be ready for the return of our Great King.

I have recently put up a bird feeder and have enjoyed seeing all the various song birds come and go in perfect peace. They sing out every time they come on sunny days, windy days, cloudy days, and even raining days. They have learned that there is provision waiting for them and so all they do is sing and fly. There is something to learn about peace and worship in all seasons, from these little birds.

The days are dark upon the earth and getting darker. As this world moves more away from the Truth of The Word, they move away from Life Itself. He is the Source of Life itself and the Source of all truth. As more and more end time prophecies are revealed and fulfilled, I have noticed another tread growing too. Worry… Worry about how to live, about jobs, family, food, clothing, etc…  Jesus warned us about the things that would come upon this world as the hour is getting closer and closer to His return:

“And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”—Matthew 24:6-8 NKJV

It’s obvious from just these few verses that what Jesus said would happen is already happening for some time now. We have had many bad things happen around the world just these last couple of years. Even as bad as things have looked and the evidence of the end becoming clearer, do those circumstances override or stand in place of His Promises for us, His followers and children?

It was a beautiful Spring Day, and a fresh breeze was in the air. Buds are blooming, birds are singing, new life is growing everywhere. I love Spring and I love all the smells, sights, and sounds. I had the privilege of spending the day with my little girl. We road scooters together, did some gardening, played with toys, and of course went to go get donuts. I don’t want to miss an opportunity to have a daddy/daughter donut date. I told her while we were out and about that I needed to grab a couple of things at the grocery store. I was looking for meat and veggies specifically. I grabbed a few tomatoes, avocados, mushrooms, spinach, and red potatoes. When I went over to get some meat I was saddened and deeply concerned about how high the prices are getting. Many thoughts ran through my mind as my inner calculator begin to do some quick math. I had a certain budget in my mind and I knew the meat prices I saw at the grocery store that day far, far exceeded it. I remembered that I still had a few packages of meat in my freezer and that should get us by for a while. I also found myself worrying over provision for my family and taking care of them.

Worry can whisper to us so softly sometimes that we find ourselves quickly having a conversation with it. The more we listen, the whisper becomes louder, and if we continue to listen, worry begins to build a nest in our minds and lay more thoughts that can lead to anxiety and fear. None of those are part of our inheritance in Christ no matter what the circumstances of our lives are or of this world. Worry and fear are never from Him even if they are only whispering.

When Jesus said we do not need to worry He meant it for all times and all seasons. He can not lie. He Is our trusted Rock and no matter what you hear, see, or even feel, lean on Him and surrender your worries over, so you can walk in all the Peace He promised. We can walk in that Peace all the way up until the very moment He returns.

When my little girl and I were at the checkout, they suddenly announced over the speakers that they just put out whole turkeys in the meat dept for only $5.00. That right! $5.00 for a 16lb whole turkey. The Holy Spirit spoke to my heart:

“I can provide and give to My children in any way, at any time, using anything I want. Just surrender your needs to Me and trust Me in all your ways. Let My Peace guard your mind, soul, and body all the days of your life and in every circumstance, then you will abide in My Love.”

Turkey in the cart, many meals to come.

Do not worry, rest in Him...

Until next time,

Much love,

Scott
